new chaotic deck :)

okay, a new set has just come out for chaotic called mar'illion invasion (or something like that lol).
it's got alot of awesome new cards. . .and after looking through the entire set, card by card i came up with a new update on my current deck.

the really exciting thing is, is i just made a pretty big purchase on a ton of cards for my deck at toywiz.com. i'm really excited because now my deck will finally be able to compete. it's got amazing creatures with some equally amazing battle gear. . .it's got alot of direct damage, and battle gear destruction, and it's got a solid attack deck.
the locations are really starting to shape up as well.
i need 1 more stone pillar (which will replace one of my barracks), i'd like to replace my 2x power pulses with 2x flame orbs, and i'd like to try out a couple underworld cities. but other then those 5 cards. . .my deck is now complete, and i couldn't be more proud.

and i won a lord van bloot on ebay about a week ago. how much? $26 shipped. it's one of the best deals i've gotten on ebay (the cheapest i've seen blooty go for on ebay besides this one is around $55.)
he doesn't have the greatest stats in the world. . .but he isn't horrible either. defently playable.
here's his stats:

for less then half of what he's worth on ebay (at least). . .i'm very happy with those stats. he was in mint condition, and with an unused code and all.

it's all about dealing massive amounts of damage. based on flame based attacks, and power based attacks.

it's got alot of nice tricks as well.
lord van bloot, and destructozooka are a great pair of cards. . .but destructo only gives him the element, and element 5 for the turn it's flipped face up. after that, the battle gear has no effect.
enter gear grind. it flips all face up battle gear face down. not only does this allow me to re-use my destructozooka, but it can also shut down alot of pesky battle gear that i may run into (stonemail anyone?).

it's got bladez. . .i love this guy. not only does he have great power ratings, but he's got an amazing ability.
if an attack would deal 0 damage, it deals 15 damage instead. awesome.
bladez just makes it much easier to use my 2x evaporizes, and my 2x reckless reproach attack cards.
plus i'm running a Kha'rall Husk Armor on one of them. it gives him 50 energy (awesome), and the only negative effect it has. . .is if that creature takes 15+ damage from a single attack, the next attack i play with him will deal 0 damage. well equipped on blades, that 0 damage turns into 15 damage. it's just an amazing combo, and i can't wait to try it out online (haven't recieved my cards from toywiz yet).

it's also got some battlegear destruction in the form of my 2x discord of disarmings, and to a lesser degree my 2x gear grinds. just about everyone relies on their battle gear. . .this deck should really be able to throw people off.

and the biggest improvement this deck has recieved in my opinion? plasmarrow.
what a freaking unbelievable card. i wish i could run 4! lol
it's got a base damage of 10, plus 10 fire damage, and 10 air damage (that's 30+ damage used with my brimflame or either of my bladez. 20+ with any of my other critters aside from ulmar). it costs 3 build points, but the thing that really makes this card shine is it's text.
"opposing engaged creature may not be healed."
what?! did i read that correctly?
yes i did! lol
what an amazing card. it deals a serius blow, but it goes a step further and prevents your opponent from healing that creature for the rest of the battle.
this card single handly gives my deck a sizable lead over overworld decks, and should win me lots of games.
and it's only a rare. WOW!
look out heptadd, look out maxxor. . .i've got some serious rage comming your way!

this deck on paper looks amazing. it has alot of answer for alot of things. it looks very well thought out, and very well put together. i can't wait to put it into practice. it'll take me awhile to get it all worked out, but i do believe this is an extremely strong underworld deck. . .in fact it's one of the best i've seen. i'm really looking forward to mastering this deck.

hehe i'm proud that i'm the one that thought this deck list up. it's taken me awhile to come up with a really strong deck list, but i think i've nailed it with this list. sure it's missing a few cards, but overall it looks amazing.

man, looking at the new macbook and i'm extremely impressed.
it's amazing looking. it's like a mini macbook pro.
led lit screen, led lit keyboard, nvidia 9400m graphics chip, .95" thick, 4.5 pounds.
yummmy.
plus it's all aluminum.

man. . .why couldn't i have been just a little more patient. heh i knew there were rumors of apple updating their macbook line. . .but man, i wanted a computer right then and there, and at that point everything was just rumors. . .nothing official. not even any dates for up comming apple events or anything.

but lets get real.
i have the last gen macbook, 2.4ghz core 2 duo, 2gb ram (haven't wanted more since i got it. . .2gb has been more then enough so far), 160gb hdd, 1.09" thick (dam thin if you ask me), all white beautiful casing (i still LOVE the looks of this computer), etc.
i do love this thing, and even though it's been updated. . .there's really not much for me to hate about this macbook.
sure it'd be nice to have a brighter screen, and a led lit keyboard, as well as made of aluminum.
but honestly, i don't play pc games much. . .i do play world of warcraft, but that's the only game on the pc i'm really all that interested in. my current macbook plays world of warcraft very well for me. i have most graphic settings at half, and i get good frame rates. . .and even at half, the graphics of this game look amazing. i certianly will not complain about the performance of this machine. . .it's more then i need right now.

i'm sad i didn't wait just a little bit longer to pick up a mac. if i would've waited, i would've got the newest macbook line.
however, at the same time i'm fine with picking up my mac when i did.
it's still an amazing computer, and i'm still very much so in love with the size and looks of the thing. it's more computer then i really need right now, and i've had no problems with mine so far. . .in fact, it's the best damn piece of technology i've ever touched in my entire life. . .no joke. sure i've used faster computers, and i've used computers able to play some very graphic intensive games, but with everything the macbook has and does, at it's weight, size, and thickness. . .it's by far the most amazing piece of technology i've ever touched.
the point that i own it. . .well, it's still hard for me to believe. it's seriously one of my biggest dreams come true.

no worries macbook. . .i still love you <3.

i'm planning on keeping this thing for a couple years. keep it till i've got it fully paid off, and am starting to be held back by it.
who knows what apple will have out in the next 2-3 years.
one thing's for sure. . .after owning this macbook, apple will be the first place i look for a new notebook replacement.
i'm willing to pay the extra money on their computers. they cost a premium. . .but man are they all amazing.

i hate the new macbook, because for a second there. . .it made me regret owning my current macbook. . .lol.

new chaotic cards. . .

okay well i'm really liking chaotic the card game.
it's expensive though. to really be able to compete online, you gotta have a pretty strong deck built.
of course, if you want to be really competitive in any trading card game, you gotta have the best cards. . .so i can't really complain too much.

i pulled a chaor from a starter deck i bought at k-mart. . .and after buying several more starter decks, some random booster packs, and a booster box of the first set dawn of perim, i'm pretty much stuck with a flame based deck.
i pulled a heptadd from another starter deck, but i didn't have any other good strong overworld creatures to go along with him.
so i built a underworld flame deck (deck list posted in my blog earlier).
it's been doing really bad in masters. it just didn't have the power level i need to compete.
so i'm looking to upgrade my deck. a new set just came out (m'arillion invasion) and it has several awesome cards that'd really pump my deck up. one of the cards is called bladez.
i just purchased 2 bladez on ebay for $2.99 each with free shipping. a heck of a deal if you ask me.
there's several other cards i plan on picking up for my deck from the new set, but they'll have to wait for now (cards i'm wanting right now are: 2x plasmarrow, and a primal smash).

then i decided to bid on a lord van bloot.
now he goes anywhere from $60-$120 on ebay. i'm not willing to spend more then $50 on a chaotic card right now.
but i decided to bid on a bloot just for the heck of it, with a max bet of $41. i knew it would go for alot more then this, but i was bored, and thought it'd be a dream come true if i won it for so cheap.
well i ended up winning him for $26 with free shipping, lmao. that's just amazing.

i sold my heptadd (second heptadd i've sold. i received both my heptadds in starter decks). it went for $45, so i used that money to pay my bloot off, and i bought another whepcrack, another song of fury, and 2 force strikes.

i'm at least $100 away from this build. i'll work on it slowly, and hopefully i'll have a deck like this of my own eventually.
this deck looks rock solid on paper. it's very beatable of course, but at the same time, it's extremely powerful.
it's based pretty much completely on either flame attacks or power based attacks. all my creatures have high power stats.
klasp with stone mail? 120 energy = big thorn in your opponent's side. plus i can give him flame: 5, or even flame: 10 with my song of fury's. that makes for one very, very mean critter.
i HAVE to run plasmarrow in this deck. it prevents my opponent from healing his engaged creature (maxxor who?), but it has a build cost of 3. . .means i gotta run quite a few 0 build point attacks.
which is exactly why i love bladez.
his ability says that if an attack he plays would deal 0 damage it deals 15 instead. that's amazing, and makes running 2x evaporize and 2x reckless reproach much easier. plus he has a really high attack, and both the flame and air elements (plasmarrow deals 30 damage with him).
the rest of the deck is pretty self explanatory. . .attack, attack, attack.

well, as i stated earlier, my macbook arrived in the mail today.

everything feels like a complete daze to me.
now i will admit that i am extremely tired (lol this dam mac wont let me goto sleep! ;p), so that may have a little to do with it.
it's just that it hasn't really impacted me yet.

I HAVE A MACBOOK! AND IT'S AMAZING!

it's been at least 2 years (probably 3, or possibly even more) since i've owned a computer that runs. i've been living off of my lg voyager cell phone for my main entertainment for the last half of a year. i love the cell phone, and it's hands down the coolest handheld gadget i've ever owned.
but i out grew it.
surfing the web is fun and all, but i needed more. i needed to be able to download files, i needed flash and java, and i needed to run programs.
my phone just couldn't do all of that for me (duh lol).
i also had my parent's computer. but i honestly haven't been on it much since they've received foster kids (my dad put the computer in one of the kid's rooms. . .it's a major pet peeve of mine when people watch me while i'm on a computer. . .the kids do alot of that.)

well now i have a macbook.
i'm getting wifi (my mac isn't picking up the mcdonald's signal that my mom's was :( ).
i've been on the net practically all day long.
i also put a bunch of my songs on this computer.
itunes is awesome.
i've used it a tiny bit before, but i really didn't like it for anything other then transferring songs on my sister's and friend's ipods.
but today i've been having all sorts of fun with it.
i love how easy itunes makes it to get internet radio. just click on the radio, and there's categories. . .there's some great stations too.
i've also been having alot of fun going through all the podcasts (especially video podcasts).
this is the first time i've actually had any podcasts, and it's been alot of fun. itunes made it extremely simple.

i installed starcraft.
i haven't played this game in years, but i remember it being the very first game i played on my first laptop i got (a sony viao. . .it really sucked). it's an amazingly fun game, and even though the graphics are waaay out of date, it's still an amazing experience.
i haven't actually played it yet, but i'll get to it once i'm done trying to figure out my mac.
i also installed a demo version of world of warcraft (with a 14 day trial). i was able to put alot of the settings on medium high - high, and still get a very, very playable frame rate (not sure of an exact number here, but it was very playable. . .very little laggyness).
i definitely plan on getting pretty heavy back into world of warcraft.
i spent many, many hours playing this game on private servers. but i had a level 20+ character that i had spent well over 70 hours on, and one of the servers crashed. . .i lost my beloved character. :( haven't played the game since.
now when i get back in, i'll be playing on blizzard's servers. i'm willing to pay the $15 monthly fee if i can feel confident i wont be losing my character again.
besides; the private servers i played on were never very populated.

i've been running off of my fully charged battery for at least 2 1/2 hours now. my screen is at max brightness. all i've done is played on the net, but it's still impressive.
it shows it still has another 1 1/2 hours before the battery dies.
4 hours on a charge? that's almost unbelievable.

not sure what else to say right now. i'm extremely tired, and need sleep lol (please let me sleep mac!!!).
i was pretty surprised at the weight of the macbook when i first picked it up out of the box. i thought it'd be lighter then it is.
but i'm actually happy about that. i don't like things that weigh next to nothing. . .i like a little heft to my products. makes them feel more substantial, and solid. i'm really happy with the weight, and oddly enough, the more i play on it today the lighter it seems to get. lol

i have alot to learn with macs and leopard. i'd like to know how to completely remove applications. doesn't leopard have a program preloaded to uninstall unwanted applications? (i haven't found it if it's there). i'm also not quite use to the keyboard yet.
i love this keyboard. it feels great to type on, and is very responsive.
but the keys are a bit small, and i'm finding it kinda hard to adjust to the keyboard with flashflashrevolution. (of course being as tired as i am doesn't help either).

but i'll get use to the computer, along with leopard. and i have a feeling i wont be going back to windows for quite some time.

but yeah, it still hasn't fully impacted me that i actually own a macbook.
not only is it amazing looking, but it's amazingly fast, and has some amazing software (including the operating system).
it all feels like a dream. i mean this can't really be my computer right?
but it's sitting right here with me in my lap. . .it's real!

MY MACBOOK CAME!
lol i was so worried that it'd be delayed for whatever reason.
but nope, it came. . .and i'm happier then words can express right now.

this thing is fing amazing! i'm so in love right now.
everything feels wierd. . .defently not windows ;) . . .defently will take some getting use to.
i love this keyboard. . .it's very responsive.

i'm extremely tired, excited, and blown away.

okay, i knew i was getting a unprotected wifi connection at my apartment a couple of months ago, because i use to connect to it with my nintendo ds before it broke.
it wasn't the strongest of signals, but i knew it'd work for me.

i wanted to make sure i was still getting the wifi in my appartment, so i just took my mom's notebook (a dell vostro 1500) up to my appartment to see if it was catching any signals.

it catches 2 signals. the one i was using with my ds. . .and a mcdonald's signal. . .lol.
i live about 1/4 mile from a mcdonald's that offers free wifi.
how i get a signal from that far away, i have no idea (i didn't think wifi could reach that far).
but sure enough, there it is. . .not only that, but i was getting a full signal. :D
so awesome.
so as long as my local mcdonald's stays open, and decides to keep giving out free wifi (i can't imagine them not doing offering it), i've got myself free high speed internet.
so freaking awesome. i really couldn't be happier about that.
plus i'm almost positive that if my mom's cheap laptop can pick up the signal, my macbook will easily pick up the signal as well.

MACBOOK ON IT'S WAY!!! WOOT!

okay. . .i didn't get aproved for a macbook pro.
i tried both apple's juniper card, and bill me later on getting a $2000 macbook pro.
just wasn't ment to be.
declined on both (i was suprised bill me later denied my dad. . .we just payed off an $1100 camera purchase we made through his bill me later account).
my parents were willing to goto thier bank and get an extension on a loan to get me my macbook pro.
but i talked them out of it. . .i just don't feel comfortable doing that to them (what happens if they need to get an extension on a loan themselves later on? i don't want to screw them up).
. . .
so that's okay.
i honestly think i was getting in a bit over my head. i was getting carried away, and getting waaaay ahead of myself with the macbook pro.
lets get real for a second.
i really don't make a alot monthly (heh you'd never be able to tell, what with my recent $1400 camera purchase, and now this), it be a pain in the ass paying a $2000 computer off.
it'd take me at least 2 years to fully pay off my macbook pro (at $100 monthly payments).
i do love the macbook pro. . .but honestly, who wouldn't? but yeah, it's just too much for me.
i'm okay that my dad didn't get aproved for the credit. i was being rash, and obsessive.

so i talked it over with my parents.
the macbook (the non pro) is an amazing computer too. in fact it's the notebook i wanted originaly.
i love the looks of it (i love clean white machines. i loved my nintendo ds before it broke, i love the looks of the ipod, and i just really like high end electronics in nice white. very clean looking).
i love the processor in the macbook (2.4GHz intel core 2 duo), and i especialy like how thing and light the thing is.
plus it's only around $1200 with taxes, and a carrying bag refurbished. . .much, much more within my means (i can pay this off in just over a year. . .which is alot better then 2+ years).
the only thing the macbook doesn't do for me. . .is play games (newer graphic intensive games).
but honestly, i've never been much of a pc gamer.
when i had a computer up and running, it'd run games. . .but i never played games on it (other then world of warcraft, magic online, and flashflashrevolution).
so the fact that the macbook doesn't play newer games, really isn't a huge deal to me.

so yeah, i decided to go with the macbook.
bill me later wasn't aproving my dad for $2000. i thought they would, but they wouldn't.
but i was almost positive they'd aprove a $1200 purchase.
the macbook is $1099 refurbised. i also go a small carrying case for the macbook for $30. the grand total was around $1186 with tax.
i didn't want to go over $1200, because i really wanted my dad's bill me later to get aproved.
and sure enough, it went through! :D :D :D :D

so within a week (hopefully it doesn't take longer) i'll be a mac owner. . .hehe i can't freaking wait.

i'm walking away today without my dream/fantasy computer. . .but i'm walking away with an amazingly fast, clean, light, small, and great looking computer. it's all the computer i need for now, and it'll do everything i'm looking for.
it's protable so i can take it with me wherever i may go.
it'll alow me to download all the things i like to download, and play my dvds.
it'll burn dvd's for me (great for backing up my photos).
it'll play world of warcraft, magic online, chaotic, and flashflashrevolution (the only games that really matter to me).
it'll allow me to surf the net (man i miss having a computer at my appartment to play on the net).
and soooo much more.

plus it's just so dam cute.

most people say the macbook is an old design, and is boring looking now (since it's been out for so long).
but i live in the middle of wyoming. the only time i've seen a macbook is through my aunt who owns one, but she lives out of state.
other then that i've never seen a mac in my town. . .so even though it may be an old design in most places. . .it'll still be very cool to own one in my town. ;p. . .sure blows away any other notebook as far as looks go i've seen around here.

so yeah, i'm stoked right now. actually it hasn't even hit me quite yet. I'M GETTING A MAC! lol so cool.
i can't wait to recieve this. i'll have much more to say about it soon.

this macbook pro fantsy is making me crazzy :p.

my parents have talked it over, and they've both agreed to let me get a macbook pro. :D :D :D
my dad was ready to let me pull the trigger tonight. . .but alas, my mom was too tired and said we can do it tommorow afternoon (is 4a.m. the afternoon??? heh).

so yeah. . .unless my dad has a mood swing, and completely changes his mind in the next 12 hours (it's happened before), i'll be attempting to order a mb pro tommorow through apple's credit card.
who knows if they'll give him the credit.
i mean it is $2000 (almost).
but then again, my dad's credit score should be pretty high.
he was aproved credit for my near $1100 camera purchase, and that has been payed off in full before the payment was even due (so that should have helped his credit even more).
at any rate i wont start getting to excited untill i've placed the order, my dad gets approved for the credit, and the computer has been shipped.

i can't even imagine owning this computer right now. . .it's like i'm in a dream lol.

i'll let you know how things go tomorow.

update on my macbook pro dreams. . .

okay, more rambling on my little macbook pro fantasy/obsseion :p.

i just talked to my mom about the mac today.
it's kinda funny.
i'm always more worried about asking my mom's permission for things. . .as i'm always worried she'll flat out say no. so i always ask my dad first.
but it's quite the opposite.
take for example my camera. . .it took a little work getting my dad's permission, where as my mom was all for it pretty much as soon as i asked here about it.

so yeah, i talked to her. . .told her how the apple financing works (through a credit card), showed her what my monthly budget is and how i can make $100 payments on the notebook without hurting myself financialy, and explained to her why i want the pro over the non-pro macbook (mainly for the video card, brighter screen, and the little things like backlit keyboard, and multi touch trackpad).
i think she's okay with it. we talked about me making the monthly payments. . .and she's not too worried that i'll screw her on payments. i've worked pretty dang hard over the past few years keeping up on all my bills, and building up my trust with my parents.

she hasn't said a yes or a no yet. . .but rather that she's talk it over with my dad.
this is actually a great sign. if she wasn't sure about letting me do something like this, she would flat out say no, and not even consider it.
most of the time when she says 'me and your father will talk about it' that is a yes.

hehe i feel kinda quilty about this whole thing thoughm
it's like i'm manipulating them. i love my parents, and they help me out alot. am i taking advantage of them by talking them into letting me use thier credit?
i don't know. there was a very wise man i once knew that said to me once "taking advantage of things isn't always a bad thing".
i feel a computer will help me a considerable amount in my life (photography, and i'm planning on taking some college courses this spring). . .and it's not like i have any plans in anyway of screwwing my parents on this. . .so maybe me getting my parents help to get this computer wouldn't be that bad of a thing.

what do you guys think? do you feel i'm using my parents in a bad way?

anyhow, i'll let you know how everything goes on my quest for a macbook pro :p.

so i've been trying to talk my parents into helping me get a macbook for about a month now.
i have horrid credit due to some stupid 'growing up' years. . .hehe. i moved down to denver, got a zales credit card, maxxed it out, and never payed it off.
i also racked up a huge cell phone bill, that i never payed off.
to say my credit is bad, is probably an understatement ;p.

but i've gotten alot better at paying bills in the last several years. between having my own apartment, a cell phone, and for quite qwhile high speed internet, and cable tv. . .i've always payed my bills on time in the last 3 years.
and now that i got my canon xsi dslr through credit (bill me later), and payed that off in time. . .i find myself a bit addicted to credit lol.
i love being able to get high end things that i crave. . .without having to come up with the full payment up front (which i don't make a tremendous amount each month, so it takes me forever to come up with $1000+).

so i need my dad's help getting a mac. he and my mom have tremendous credit. they've never had a hard time going into a store, or online and getting aproved with credit checks. they take alot of pride in making sure they always get there bills payed for on time.
and that's what i need from him. . .i need him to let me use his credit so i can make monthly payments on a mac computer.
i'm confident i'll make all my payments each month, if they'd let me use their credit. when i had cable and internet for the year i was on it, i was never late on payment. i've had my cell phone for over 2 years and have yet to miss a payment (i'm on a family plan with my dad. it costs about $100 a month, and i've always payed at least $75 of it each month, and sometimes i pay the full monthly amount).
and i've been in my appartments for nearly 3 years, again never missing a payment.
so i'm confident i'll pay my monthly payment.

anyhow, i was at apple's online store today with my dad showing them the different computers, and how much they cost.
there's my biggest hurdle with my dad. . .the price.
my dad wants to help me get a computer, as he knows i don't have alot to do at my appartment, and it gives me something to edit my photos with (i don't get to use my parent's computer often anymore, as their foster kids are always on it).
but he's stuck on how much more of a computer you can get for the price of macbooks (with more hard drive space, and ram mainly).
i've seen how much smoother macs run though. . .and i really won't even consider a windows pc right now (heh i'm obsessed with getting a mac. . .they're just so dam fast, amazing looking, sleek, and extremely powerfull).

i made a shopping cart with a refurbished macbook (white) 2.4ghz duel core 2, 2 gigs of ram, 160gb hard drive, with a refurbed wireless mighty mouse, a remote, and a case. . .$1206. it'd only be about $29 a month going through apple's credit system.
he was amazed at how cheap it's cost monthly. . .he then saw a picture of the macbook pro.
lol, he was completely blown away. . .i showed him more images of it, and he thought it was cool that they made the plastic case look like aluminum. . .he was even more impressed when i told him that it actually is aluminum.
he loved how sleek (thin) and light it was as well.
he thought it was awesome how the keys light up, and how it's got a multi touch touch pad.
it was love at first sight for my dad :).
now he wants me to get this one.
i can get a 15.4 inch mb pro. with a 2.4ghz dual core 2 processor, 2 gigs of ram (ddr3), 200gb hdd, and a dedicated nvidia graphics card, along with the mouse, remote, and case for around $1806 or $48 a month through apple's credit system.
this is the one he wants me to get. . .lol, my dad is awesome sometimes :).

it's pretty much my dream system. it'll play just about any game i'm interested in. . .it'd eat through photoshop cs3, and all my photo editing, it'd be a great computer to watxh videos and movies on (with the gorgeous led lit screen), and it's small and light enough for me to take everywhere.
all this for around $50 a month, and i'm sold.

my dad wants to waste some time this weekend, so we're thinking about going to utah to do a little shoppong. he wants me to take him to an apple store (and best buy) so he can play around with a mac book pro a little. . .and to make sure it's absolutly the computer i want (as i can get alot of different dam nice computers for $1800 or less).
but in my head i'm already convinced that i want a mac. i'd gladly take a macbook, but if i could get a macbook pro. . .well then, that's pretty much my dream system right there.

anyhow. . .that's all the rambling i have for you right now. i think i'm close to getting my parent's help getting a macbook, and i'll keep you posted on my progress (heh i'm such a bad person using my parents :p).

new chaotic dream deck. . .

i've been putting alot of thought into the deck i'd like to eventually build for chaotic.
i want it to be underworld as i already have chaor, so i mine as well run with it.
plus i've got some great flame and power based attacks.

the deck i'd like to build will be all about damage. . .and lots of it.
from my creatures and battle gear, to my mugic and attacks, it's all about damage. . .putting alot of pressure on my opponent from the start of the game, and all the way till the end.

i think i'll skip barath beyond, and replace him with 2 klasps.
why?
klasp has high courage and power stats so he works well with my attacks, he's got the flame element. . .again working well with my attacks, and my locations, and he's got built in direct damge if i absolutly need it.
just seems to fit my whole theme alot better.

and i found a preview card comming out in the next set called plasma arrows.
it's an attack that costs 3 build points, has 10 base damage, and 10 fire and 10 air damage.
decent already (compared to lavalanche which costs the same). . .but here's the amazing thing about this attack.
it prevents the opposing engaged creature from healing during the rest of that battle.
wow. . .not only does it do a minimum of 20 damage in my deck, but it stops any healing to be done. this card is amazing and is an absolute must have for my deck.
there'll probably plenty of new cards from this set that i'll want to add to my deck. . .and i'll update this list when that happens.

well, my photo a day project never happened (as you probably realized through my absence on this blog).

i do have my camera payed off. . .all $1067.90 of it. :) very happy about this.
i still owe about $370 for my 2 lenses i purchased with the camera, and will hopefully have those payed off soon.
it'll be damn nice to get this camera kit payed off. . .it'll be the most expensive item that i've ever owned that's been completly payed off.

on another note. . .i need a computer!
i've gone without a computer for the last several years.
i love computers and can easily put a good 8-10 hours on a computer given the chance to do so.
i've been having to goto my parent's house to use a computer. . .which my dad soesn't mind, as i keep the computer very clean (of spyware and viruses. . .lol i have 4 different spyware programs i run, as well as a virus scan. . .i hate spyware). i also keep the computer running nice and fast for him (i love quad core processors! lol).
but alas. . .my parents are taking care of a couple of foster kids, and the computer is in one of the kid's rooms.
it's a major pet peeve of mine when someone watches me do whatever i'm doing on the computer. . .and the kids do alot of watching me on the computer. the one that really gets to me, is when i get on the computer. . .then the kid wants to get on lol. he's had all day to be on it but hasn't. . .but as soon as i get on "how much longer are you going to be on the computer?", "i need to get on the computer as soon as you're done", "can you look something up for me?", "are you done with the computer yet?". . .
ERRRRRRR!
i need my own computer again.
and damn it. . .i just had to do a little research on macs.
now i really like windows, and always have.
there's alot of hate on windows vista right now. . .and i just don't understand most of the hate.
i've loved vista since it came out. . .sure i've had problems once in awhile with drivers. . .but everything has worked itself out.
vista to me is a fun, great looking operating system. i really enjoy it.
. . .
then there's apple leopard.
after watching a billion videos on youtube, i'm amazed with this operating system.
not only does it look amazing, easy to use, and fun. . .but it runs so freaking fast.
i've seen guys doing speed tests with macs equipped with only 1gb of ram. . .they open as many programs, and videos they can. . .and show how much it slows thier computers down. . .which their computers don't seem to slow down at all.
i'm convinced. . .i need a mac.

the imac 24" is damn tempting. . .great running computers with a dedicated graphics card. . .and a huge screen (my tv is only 20" lol).
but man are the white macbooks sexxy.
it's pretty much everything i'm looking for with a computer right now.
it'll run photoshop cs3 for me, play the games i like (world of warcraft, magic online, and flash flash revolution), it's amazingly sexxy, and it's blazingly fast (i'm looking at the 2.4ghz duel core 2, 2gigs of ram model).
plus it's light (5.4 pounds), sleek, and very easy to take with me wherever i go.
i've spent hours looking at computers. . .nothing jumps out at me like the macbook (well except for the macbook pro, but that's too expensive).

i really don't have much to do at my appartment. . .besides my cell phone.
i don't have cable tv. . .the only station i get is cbs. no computer, and no video game systems (sold my wii, and ps2 to help pay for my camera, and my nintendo ds broke recently :( ).
luckly my phone is able to do so much.
it can surf the net, and it can play youtube videos (through m.youtube.com). . .but it's slow, and getting old (can't goto flash sites, or download anything. . .oh, and did i mention it's slow? heh).
so yeah. . .i need a macbook now.
i'll be waiting till at least october a9rumors are flying that apple is going to update the macbook in september). . .but when i get it, it'll be through bill me later, and i'll be using the monthly payment plan (should cost less then $60 a month which i can easily afford. . .plus there's unprotected wifi at my appartments, so i wont have to pay for the net. . .and i'd probably go to a more basic plan on my cell phone, as i'll probably never touch this phone other then for calls once i have a computer).

okay now that my huge update is over. . .
i've gotten into a new card game. . .and i'm really loving it right now.
it's called chaotic.
heh i was planning on just getting a starter deck and a few booster packs to try the game out.
i did, fell in love and have since dropped about $200 on the game in the last few weeks :p.
yeah. . .i really like this game :D.
it's simple, yet takes alot of thought on how to put the deck together. . .which creatures to use and what equipment to put on them, how to position them, what attacks work well with them, and which locations work best for them. . .there's alot to think about when throwing together a deck.
and i love building decks.
i've decided to only get my cards from boosters/starters or trading. now purchasing singles.
i miss the fun of opening booster packs, and finding a card that helps your deck. . .buying singles ruins this, and makes it pointless to buy boosters. . .though it is aalot cheaper. but i want to enjoy this game, so it's boosters for me :).

i haven't tried it out yet as i just got my booster box today.
main goal? just to beat the living pulp out of your opponent. it's a flame based deck, with lots of flame attacks (i puule some much needed attaks from my box today, i'm especialy happy to have pulled my incinerases, flashwarps, and vaporizes as they all cost 0, and can all do 10+ damage. . .before them, my 0 costing attacks really sucked.
it looks pretty dam strong and alot of fun, so i can't wait to try it out.

it's been several weeks since my last post here.

i haven't played with my camera much in the last week. i've been meaning too, but i've been bussy.

it bugs me though, because if i'm not using the camera. . .i'm not learning.
i've decided i'm going to attempt to take at least 1 photo a day.
i read about the idea online, of people taking a shot a day, and keeping track of it in thier blogs and flickr.
it sounds like alot of fun, and i'd love to do it as well.

it can be a shot of anything. . .people, plants/flowers, bugs, animals, heck even the floor! (the floor? YES! the floor!! lol).
my main goal with taking a photo a day, is to learn more about my camera (i'm finding out getting the right exposure is alot tougher then i thought it'd be), and to become better at my compositions.

i probably wont be able to post each and every day unfortunently (i'd love to). . .i'm without a computer atm, so i have goto my parent's house to use a computer (i can use the internet on my cell phone, but i can't upload pictures with it to this site).
i'll try to update at least once a week (i'm thinking fridays would be good).

so anyhow, i started yesterday:

first day with my XSi :D

my canon rebel xsi camera came yesterday (05-06-08). . .however i decided not to open it just then.
my b-day was today, so i decided to wait till today (and let me tell you. . .it was not fun waiting knowing it was right there in that big brown ups box lol).

opened it up today.
wow :) i love this thing.
i kept hearing people complain about the canon xti (the model canon came out with before they made the xsi) being too light, cheap feeling, and small.
my first impressions of the xsi are the complete oposite.
it's got a very good solid feel. it is light, but not so light that it feels cheap. . .it's got a very solid weight to it.
and it's comfortable for me, so no complaints about it being too small from me so far.

i know nothing about photography. . .so first thing i did was put it into full auto mode, and took some test shots.
it takes very sharp pictures, and the autofocus on the 18-55mm kit lens it came with is pretty fast, and acurate (it has problems focusing on objects not well lighted. . .good thing manual focus is so easy.)
the autofocus on this lens is pretty loud (at least i think so). . .hehe but i realy like hearing it focus, makes it sound more like a high end camera to me :p.

i also tried out the live view mode.
it's an awesome option. . .very glad i decided to get a camera with this feature.
i plan on doing alot of macro photography (i really need a good tripod) and i really think i'll get alot of use out of live view.
i especialy like being able to zoom in to make focus adjustments.
i also really like that i can put a 3x3 grip over the live preview (think a tic tak toe board). . .will help me figure out the rule of thirds i keep hearing all over the net.

i look quite a few shots. . .at first i put it in full auto mode (the camera tries it's best to guess the best white balance, iso, shutter speed, appature, etc).
then i got brave and have spent the rest of the day shooting in full manual mode (hoping to force myself to understand what some of the settings do).
hehe this camera is really intimidating. . .there's just so much to learn. . .and i feel so lost.
the 2 biggest things i'm stuck at are appature (f stops) and shutter speed.
i have the basics down. . .what i don't understand is how they effect each other, or what appature i should be at (should i shoot this picture at f/11. . .or should i go higher?) or if i have a high f stop (narrow appature), what should i put the shutter speed at?
i'll get the hang of it eventualy though. . .but it is pretty dam confusing.

i was playing with the camera as it was getting dark tonight (set the iso at 1600, opened the appature as wide as it'd let me, and set the shutter speed at 1 second) and i'm blown away with how well it was able to do.
i took a test shot of my dad's car without using the flash, and it had no problems getting the shot.
hehe the shot was really blurry rhough because i was hand holding the camera (hehe have i mentioned that i really need a tripod? lol).

well, i decided to try and use bill me later on an order for a canon xsi at adorama.com lastnight.
my credit is pretty bad. . .so it didn't go through (i wasn't expecting it to).

then i explained how bill me later works to my dad (no payments for 90 days, and if i pay in full within the 90 days, there's no extra charges, or no interest).
and i con'ed him into giving me his date of birth, and his social security number :D.
it went through on him, and i got to the reciept page. . .so i'm pretty sure he was aproved, but they could still decline him the bill me later within the next couple of days (will be sooo, sooo sad if it gets decline now. . .lol).

okay, i used the $100 from my savings to get 2 sandisk 4GB extreme III sdhc cards, like i posted last week.
i found out that when everything is all said and done, i'll end up getting a $77 rebate on the 2 cards ($70 sandisk rebate, and adorama will add 10% of that ($7) if i get the rebate in the form of a gift certificate that i can only use at adorama. . .which i'll gladly take).
i'm just hoping i can get the rebate by the time i'm ready to make my purchase for my xsi.

i'm also going to start keeping track of my savings a bit differently from now on.

i borrowed $102.90 to my parents out of my savings at the begining of this month.
they will pay this back, but probably not till june or early july.
everytime i've posted my new amount saved here. . .i've been adding the amount i borrowed to them.
from now on, i'll only be posting the amount i actualy have in cash.

okay, it's been a few days since my last post. . .want to post on a couple things.

lets start off with the money i'm saving for my canon xsi (yes. . .lol i'm still completely obsessed with this camera :) ).

i'm adding $100 today, and will be adding another $50 as soon as i'm able to cash one of my 100 dollar bills.
i'm also adding$14.80 from loose change i've saved (with the help of my parents) in the past week.
so with the money borrowed to my parents my new ammount saved is:

me and my dad just got my mom a laptop computer off of ebay today.
my mom has a messed up knee, and it's really hard for her to sit at a desk for long periods of time.
a notebook is just what she needs, and i know she'll love it (i'll be setting up a wireless home network so she can use the net, and printer wherever she wants at her house).
it's a dell vostro 1500, has a 1.4ghz intel duo core processor, 15.4 screen, 2 gigs of ram, an envidia 128mb video card (can't remember the model number. . .it was a 8400 gs or something), and a built in mic/web cam (which my mom really wanted).
not the fastest, nor most impressive machine out there. . .but for my mom, it'll be waaaay more then she'll need (she'll be using it mainly to access the net, use ms word, and to do e-mailing, and to chat. the most intensive game she'll ever play?. . .bejeweled lol. . .dam is she addicted to that, and another game called chuzzle heh).
so i'm really excited about her getting this computer. . .she'll love it.

i was at a dollar store the other day, and i noticed they had a bunch of avatar the last air bender starter decks for sale. i couldn't believe it. i like the toon, and have wanted to try this game out.
i ended up buying 28 starters. . .i just couldn't pass them up at that price. and the starters are nice because the cards are all random, so there not all identical cards in each pack like most games.
i had alot of fun opening, reading, and sorting all the cards (it's been quite awhile since i've bought a booster box, or a large lot of cards).
i've only played a couple games so far (playing myself lol. . .i wish i had more nerdy friends! ah well, at least when i play myself, i can never lose! lol :p ).
the game is a bit too simple for my tastes, which i can sompletely understand. . .this is based off a kids toon after all.
my dad wants to try the game out with me, and at least it should be simple enough for him to grasp.
it was funny. . .i really wanted the rare aang chamber card. . .not the best chamber in the game (imho) but it was just really cool (12 force, 12 inniciative). . .i didn't pull him until i opened my very last starter. . .it's just funny how that worked out.
if my dad ends up liking the game and i get a bit more into the game, i may post a bit more on it.

and finaly. . .
i like the wizkids pirates constructable strategy game. . .unfortunently, i don't know anyone who will plau it with me.
but about a year ago i bought a $10 l/e set for the game (it came with the l/e hangman's noose ship) and ended up pulling the 22 point american constitution ship. . .it's an extremely strong ship and i love it.
well i was at walmart and saw a tin full of packs (only 5 packs). . .and i decided to pick it up.
i didn't pull anything amazing this time, but i still got some cool ships. i got the polaris l/e (one of my favorite looking ships), a l/e sea dragon (angelica). . .which is an absolute beast (unlimited movement. . .wow), a rare uss constitution (not the same as the one i pulled a long time ago) a couple rare unique treasres, and a few other cool things (a kraken sea monster, and a big "titan" crab. . .hehe pretty cute if you ask me).
now if only i had someone to play with :( . . .i really like the game.

so anyhow, there's my 1 billion word count (give or take several hundred million) post.

borrowing money to parents

okay, so i've borrowed some money to my parents from my savings for my canon xsi.
like i said before, i'm happy to do this as it helps both of us out. helps my parents out by having a little bit more cash, and they don't need to pay me back until early july. . .and it helps me out, because if i don't have the cash i can't spend it, lol. . .sounds dumb i know :p.
anyhow i'm just posting here how much i've borrowed so i can keep track.

-i borrowed my parents $53 a few days ago, but i ended up spending $10 of it, so they only owe me $43 on that, and i at some point need to replace the other $10.

-i cashed in all my saved change for them to borrow. . .ended up being $33.90.

-and i gave them $26 today in cash.

=so in total they owe me:
$102.90, plus i need to replace the $10.

in a couple of days i'll be borrowing $140 to them, which will all go towards my savings for my xsi camera.

so anyhow, with that all said here's my new ammount saved for my canon xsi:

heh. . .my dad is awesome; recieving his loose change is really helping.
i've recieved over $25 from him in the last week, all in change :) very cool.
he didn't end up needing me on saturday, so i didn't make the extra moola, but that's okay.

so it works for both of us. . .hehe i've always had a hard time holding onto money for very long. . .there's always things i want, and i can become very impulsive at times with buying things. i'm worried i could spend some/all of my savings, and screw my goal up. . .which is a big reason i'd like to borrow it to my parents. . .i can't spend cash i don't have lol :p

Live View

Available for the first time on a Canon consumer D-SLR, Live View mode makes it easier to shoot from awkward angles, such as ground-level macro shots or when shooting from a tripod. The image from the Live View mode is displayed as a smooth, 30fps video feed on the 3.0” LCD, which is 50% brighter than the screen of the EOS 400D. A grid line display and live histogram can be selected to help with shot composition and exposure. While focusing, the photographer can zoom in on specific details with up to 10x magnification of the image displayed on the LCD screen. Two types of auto focus are available: Quick AF flips the camera mirror momentarily to engage the AF sensor; Live AF uses the image contrast data to focus - a method familiar to anyone upgrading from a compact digital camera.

For studio environments, remote Live View lets the photographer compose, adjust settings and capture the shot from a PC using the supplied EOS utility software.

Other improvements

The EOS 450D complements its headline features with a host of smaller improvements that enhance the photographic experience. The viewfinder now displays all key exposure information including ISO speed. The addition of spot metering (4% of viewfinder) allows for greater control over exposure in tricky lighting conditions. PictBridge functionality has been expanded so that photographers can correct horizons and add picture effects before printing. CMOS

Canon’s CMOS technology is one of the company’s key competitive advantages, with noise reduction circuitry at each pixel site delivering virtually noise-free images. In comparison with CCD technology, the lower power consumption characteristics of Canon’s CMOS sensors also contribute to longer battery life.
Signal conversion in Canon’s CMOS sensors is handled by individual amplifiers at each pixel site. Unnecessary charge transfer operations are avoided, vastly speeding up the process of getting signal to the image processor. Noise generation is reduced, power consumption is limited and faster frame rate potential is increased.

EOS Integrated Cleaning System

The EOS Integrated Cleaning System combats sensor dust in three important ways: Reduce, Repel and Remove.

Reduce - Internal camera mechanisms are designed to minimise dust generation. The redesigned body cap prevents dust generation through wear on the cap itself.
Repel - Anti-static technologies are applied to the low-pass filter covering the front of the sensor so as not to attract dust.
Remove - A Self-Cleaning Sensor Unit uses hi-frequency vibrations to shake dust from the infrared filter for a period of approximately one second after each start up. For instant shooting after power up, this feature is disabled immediately the shutter release is depressed.
Canon has also developed an internal Dust Delete Data system, which can map the position of visible dust on the sensor. This can then be deleted automatically after the shoot with the latest Digital Photo Professional software.

Picture Style

Picture Style pre-sets simplify in-camera control over image qualities. Picture Style pre-sets can be likened to different film types – each one offering a different colour response. Within each selectable pre-set, photographers have control over sharpness, contrast, colour tone and saturation. The camera’s factory default configuration is set to deliver immediately-usable JPEG images without need for additional menu settings. Picture Style presets applied to a RAW image can be revised with Canon’s Digital Photo Professional software.

The six pre-sets include:

Standard – for crisp, vivid images that don’t require post-processing
Portrait – optimises colour tone and saturation and weakens sharpening to achieve attractive skin tones
Landscape – for punchier greens and blues with stronger sharpening to give a crisp edge to mountain, tree and building outlines
Neutral – ideal for post-processing
Faithful – adjusts colour to match the subject colour when shot under a colour temperature of 5200K

Digital Photo Professional software provides high speed, high quality processing of lossless RAW images. Processing with Digital Photo Professional allows real-time display and immediate application of image adjustments, giving control over RAW image variables such as white balance, dynamic range, exposure compensation and colour tone. lol so yeah, it's only a few dolars more then last time. . .but if i'm going to save money without impulsivly using it, i need to stay motivated, and i'm hoping that posting my progress online will help with that. . .so i plan on updating this amount as often as i can. . .even if it's only a dollar or two.

this amount should increase greatly at the begining of next month, as i hope to add $150 to it.

canon eos rebel xsi 450d

my newest obsession has been on cameras.
i've enjoyed taking pictures since i was just a kid.
about a year ago, i started thinking about getting myself a nice dslr (digital single lens reflex) camera.
they're nice because with these cameras you can switch the lens, and they give you alot more control then point and shoots.
i wanted a canon rebel xti 400d.
i've always liked canon, and i love the name rebel (heh i use to dream of owning one, one day).
rebels aren't extremely expensive. . .but they are a bit out of range for me.
then just yesterday i found out about the next rebel canon will start selling in april.
the canon rebel xsi 450d.
it's got alot of nice upgrades over the xti 400d. . .notably the higher resolution, bigger and brighter lcd screen, better battery, and a better kit lens (which includes image stabalization).
this being said. . .it costs $900 for the camera and the lens.
i can get an xti on ebay with 2 lens, a carrying bag, memory card, lens filters, tripods, and other goodies for less then $800. . .all brand new.
but in the end, the live view and the higher quality lens has sold me on the xsi.

so now i need to come up with around $1000 (for the camera and lens, taxes and a memory card).
that's a tremendous amount of cash for me.
i have around $300 comming to me in june, and my birthday is in may, and i'll see if my parents would be willing to give me a bit of cash to put towards the camera instead of a gift.
my plan is to stash away about $150 each month, and in early july i'll have enough stored up (with the $300 i've got comming in june, and my b-day) to get this camera.

so far i have $33 saved for the camera.
lol i know that's nothing. . .but hey, i gotta start somewhere right?

i'm posting this on my phone, or else i'd post some links/pictures/info on this camera, but that'll have to wait until i get back on a pc.

i'll keep this blog updated on my progress.

yugioh world championship 2008

well now i'm 143 hours into yu-gi-oh world championship 2008 for the nintendo ds.
heh i have no life.
i have 37 of the 39 sets, and the sets i own are all 100% complete.
i've been having too much fun building/testing different decks to unlock the last 2 sets, and working on a 100% card completion in game (i'm at 94% right now).
this is going to be an extremely long post. . .i'm going to list all of the decks i've built and use in this game so far (i'm not even close to done building decks though).

Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship 2008 For The DS. . .

okay, so i bought yugioh world championship 2008 for my nintendo ds about 2 weeks ago.
the main reason for getting it was for the promo card that came with it; dimensional prison.
i love sakuretsu armor, but prison takes it a step further. . .instead of just destroying the attacking monster, it removes it from the game. . .awesome! :)
oh, and the game?
well. . .i just hit my 90 hour mark in the game. . .lol, should tell you something.
it's dam addictive.

i have a beatdown deck in the game built (can't get the decklist to you right now, as i don't have my ds handy). . .it's pretty much an advanced version of the deck i run in real life.
it's all about clearing my opponent's side of the board (both spell/traps, and monster) then going in for the kill with monsters.
it's a very simple strategy, but very effective. i enjoy the deck alot.
i also have a zombie deck.
heh it's pretty much just a zombie madness starter deck, with a couple extra cards thrown in (an extra vampire lord, a premature burrial, spirit reaper, and replaced some of the weaker monsters, oh and i added a snipe hunter, which flipping rocks in this deck (like it doesn't rock anyhow, lol)).
i didn't expect the deck to do well (i don't even have any il bluds to throw in yet) but wow. . .it's dam effective. it's great at swarming the board with big beasty monsters (ryu kokki, and despair from the dark), and it's awesome because there will be many times when i'll have an empty board, and i'll have a big critter on my opponent's side of the field breathing down my back. . .then bam, out of nowhere i'll have 2 or 3 monsters on the board (thanks to book of life, call of the mummy, and my call of the haunted, and premature burial) not to mention vampire lord's built in recursion ability, which has saved my neck many, many times.
it's a very fun deck to build, and i'm suprised at how well it does in the game. i only added a few cards to the starter, and it's just about as powerfull as my beat down deck (which is chock full of restricted cards).
and last but not least i have a burn deck. i built the deck because one of the requirements for a game i played, was that i creat a chain with 5 links, and then won the game on top of that.
now i've never played any decks that cared about the chain in yugioh. . .so this was something completely new to me. so i found a deck that used the chain on the net, and spent some time getting all the cards together for it (heh it ended up taking me nearly 8 hours to unlock the packs i needed to unlock, and to purchased enough packs to get the cards i needed. . .ceasefire was a particular pain to get, as was scapegoat).
i'll post the deck list some time. . .but it's a very cool deck that revolves around drawing lots of cards, and using cards like chain burst (this may be the wrong name), lava golem, secret barrel, and this other trap that deals 500 points x the number of creatures my opponent controls (it also runs 3 ojama trio's). add this with 3xwabuko, and 3x threating roar, and it turns out to be a very powerfull deck.
it dies to any deck running jinzo, or royal decree though (obviously lol).

but yeah, it's a great game. i finished the main story, but now i'm wanting to unlock more packs so i can start building some cool decks i've never tried before (i've never played advance. . .so it's fun to see what's out there).
the deck i want the most is a necroface deck. i love necroface, and have been completely amazed by it since i've seen it a month or 2 ago.
heh now i just have to wait for them to reprint the dam card, so i don't have to pay $200+ per card (it's a perfect answer to big d.'s deck).
i'd also like to build a gladiator beast deck, a crystal beast/rainbow dragon deck, a gadget/monarch deck, and some other fun decks.
i've got at least another 50 hours to spend in this game. i haven't even unlocked any of the tournaments yet, and i'm willing to bet it'll take me around 20 hours to get my necroface deck all worked out.

tweaking my deck

okay after another multiplayer game (3 player, each starting with 24,000 life points) i've come to the conclusion that i need more spell/trap removal.
my 2 friends have both tweaked their decks. . .big d. adding in more monster/spell/trap removal, and shawn adding in more burn cards (traps).
they both run alot of stall in the form of stumblings, area limit b, and area limit a (i think that's what it's called. . .it's a trap which makes it so level 4 and higher monsters can't attack).
stall is horrible for me. . .if i'm not attacking, i'm not winning.
i lost (i was the first out).
i focused on big d. again. . .but there was just too much stall, and when i finaly had an answer. . .big d, was able to stop it.

i'm still convinced i need to keep my focus on big d. and knock him out of the game as quickly as possible. . .however i need more ways of dealing with the traps and spells. . .especialy continous ones that prevent me from attacking.

anyhow, before i get into my deck tweaking. . .let me just say that i'm still undefeated in 1on1 games with big d. (and shawn still refuses to play 1on1 with me).
i let big d. start out at 24,000 points, and i started out at 8,000. i made quick work of his deck (i ended at around 5,000) :).
okay, enough bragging for now. . .now onto my deck fixxing.

i'll be keeping my monster line up the same for now.
i am thinking of running 2x mobius the frost monarch, and taking out a cyber dragon, but we'll see (cyber dragon is proving extremely deadly in multiplayer).
i'm also undecided on mei-kou. he is a light monster (keeping in mind that this is a chaos deck). . .and it does kill stall cards for me. . .but it's only got a 1700 attack, and it's a spellcaster so i'm unable to fetch him with reinforcement of the army.
i need to play with him longer, and afer a bit more play testing, i'll make up my mind).
i did a bit of searching and found a couple warriors that may replace him. . .however neither is a light monster.
cliff the trap remover is a level 3 warrior (lets me past some of the stall), with a 1200 attack (or maybe it's 1000?), but when he attacks my opponent directly i can destroy 1 of thier spells or traps.
or chiran the mage who is a level 4 beast-warrior with a decent attack (1800 i think) and once per turn i can discard a spell to destroy 2 spell or traps on the field.

with my spells:

-1x snatch steal
-1x enemy controller
-1x premature burrial
-1x book of moon

+2x twister
+2x tornado

. . .taking out some very good cards, but i have to make sacrafices, and i refuse to go over 65 cards.
it also goes to show how importanr having more spell/trap answers is for me.

tornado is a quick play spell that says if my opponent has 3 or more spells/traps on the field, i can destroy one.
both of my friends play tons of spells and traps, and it's not uncommon at all for them to have 4 or 5 down. this spell would see a tremendous amount of play.

twister is a quick play spell that says pay 500 points: destroy 1 continous trap or spell.
another card that will see a ton of play.

and finaly my traps:

-1x call of the haunted

+1x dust tornado

again i'm getting rid of a killer card.
over the past few games though monster recursion hasn't been important at all (and often times when i did, it's for an exiled force, or something simalar). . .with the amount of graveyard distruption big d. plays, it's just too dam difficult to have big game swinging monsters in my grave when i pull my monster recursions).

also note that me and my friends play with a few house rules. . .one of them is that mystical space typhoon, and dust tornado not only destroy the spell or trap, but can negate the activation of one as well.
why in the heck am i not running 3 already? heh.

okay so here's my revised deck list (i need to order both the twisters, and tornados, and i need 1 more dust tornado).

more yugioh multiplayer. . .

me and my 2 friends played 2 more 24,000 point yu-gi-oh multiplayer games today.
i lost one, and i won one.

i can now for certian say that my strategy of putting all my focus and attention on my friend till he's dead, then ficusing on my other friend works. . .works extremely well actualy.

first game i went after my friend (who from here on out i'll be calling big d. on this blog), completely ignoring my other friend (who i'l be calling shawn from here on out on this blog).
things just went really well for me. there was a few points in the game that i had lost control (shawn got out a barrel dragon that i couldn't answer for a few turns). . .but i was able to bounce back eventually after losing control (which my deck is very good at). . .and most of the time i had answers right away for any threat they managed to get on the table.
i remembered why i use to love royal decree so much when i use to play. . .it really kept me in control mid-late game.
anyhow i kept pecking away at big d. killing off his monsters. . .and i was finaly able to knock him out of the game.
shawn on the other hand was still completely untouched at 24,000 points. . .hehe he even showed big d. bragging.
i was at around 9,000 (i think it was 9,800 to be exact).
to make it short. . .shawn's deck holds no chance 1on1 against mine. i took him out pretty quickly (though i did lose control once and he was able to get in a couple of good attacks. . .my deck is just great at top decking answers for me).
most valuable cards this game:
royal decree
and
fiber jar (flipping redicoulsly broken card).

game 2 was bad.
they finaly both put all there attention on me, and did't hold back (shawn will often hold back, and not attack people who are defensless. . .he does it to be fair, but it annoys me. . .the point is to win, not to be fair lol. . .yeah i may be taking these games to seriously heh).
big d. removed some of my best cards from the game very early in the game (all 3 mystic swordsman lv2's, rageki, and a couple others). . .and i was simply put not able to find enough of my answers when i needed them; even after a couple fiber jars.
they were nailing away at my life, and keeping me pretty much creatureless.
i did decent at taking big d. down with me. . .but i was down to 12 cards in my deck, with a fiber jar in hand. . .i felt confidenta. knowing i could gain back control (and hopefully draw better). . .then my friend activates 2x soul releases removing my only 9 monsters in my graveyard from play. . .imediatly followed by a card destruction making me discard my fiber.
i knew it was over at this point. . .as it was only a matter of time before i decked out (and i only had about 3 monsters left in my deck that i knew of. . .2 of them were my black luster, and chaos emperor who were useless withou a light/dark monster in my grave).
but shawn ended up putting me out of my missary by playing a trap that dealt 300 damage to me for each card i had removed from the game. . .lol it was a total of 33 cards, for 9900 points direct, well enogh to knock me out.)
shawn ended up winning that game.
it was a good game, though i was hosed early. . .topped with not such great draws.

1on1 games:
me all wins :)
big d. no wins :(
i think me and big d. have played a total of 15 1on1 games. . .he's yet to be able to defeat my deck, only clomming close once. /end brag lol.

so it was fun, and now i know what i need to do to do better in multiplayer games. . .just hope my friends don't get pissed about it too soon.

yu-gi-oh multiplayer. . .

well me and my 2 friends played another game of 3 player multiplayer (we all started at 24,000 points as always).

i'm dam happy with my deck. . .and it isn't even finished yet. it's got tons of control, and i'm consistantly finding myself with the best feild position (aka best monsters and spells/traps at any given time), and i'm finding that i ussually always have answers for whatever i may come up against (for example today one of my friends destoyed my sakuretsu armor with a mystical space typhoon, then dropped a silent swordsman lv4 (or maybe it's lv5?). . .no problem, on my turn i dropped an exiled force and got rid of the swordsman.)
it's just a very solid and consistant deck with alot of aggresive monsters, and tons of answers to whatever my opponents can throw at me.

and today, i figured out what i need to do to give myself a much better chance at winning multiplayer games.
i need to focus on the strongest threat, and relentlessly go after that one person. . .ignoring my other friend unless i absolutly have to deal with him.
it's not fun to play with me (and my friends play mostly for fun). . .but i don't play for fun. . .i don't build decks that i think will be fun. . .i play and build to win.
i focused on my friend today who runs alot of threats (the guy that tries to deck his opponents out). . .i was able to keep his spells/traps in check, and i was able to keep his monsters off the field. i ignored my other friend (and not to sound too arrogant here. . .but this guy's deck holds absolutly no chance against my deck in a 1 on 1 game). . .i just attacked the hell out of my friend, till he was out of the game and no longer a threat.
i was at around 11,000 life points and my second friend was well over 30,000 life points.
i made very quick work of him. . .anytime he finaly had a monster, i was able to emediatly deal with it so i could continue with my attacks (i was able to finish the game with 2 kycoos, and a cyber dragon. . .he had no creatures).

i'm sure this will piss my friends off eventualy. . .and i'm expecting both of them to gang up on me in our next game. . .which should be interesting. i wonder how long i'll last going against 2 weaker decks completely focused on me.
i'm pretty confidant i'll actualy do okay as long as i apply the same strategy of taking them out 1 at a time.

my most valuable player today was my exiled force. . .i've loved this card for a long time. . .and today just proved to me once again why i love it so much. . .a tremendous answer card.
i'll be running 2 now.
snipe hunter was a very close second. i hit 1 and 6 a couple times. . .but the 3 times his effect went through they were game swaying moves. he's awesome because he can answers both monsters and spells/trap. . .insanely powerfull.
least valuable player. . .spell canceler. he's nice to have going against my friend who plays the deck that tries to deck me out. . .but he's horrible in multiplayer (just not enough attack/defense).
he's being taken out and replaced by a second exiled force. plus i run too many spells. . .and i rely on them to keep control.

anyhow, today was a great day, and i'm excited of all i've learned about playing in multiplayer games. . .the real test will be if my strategy can continue to win me games.

my furby (hehe one of my favorite toys of all time), along with a trophey i won in vegas for yo-yoing, and some of my miniature keychain board games.

it's really dark and hard to make out, but it's my warhammer 40k figures, facing off against a hill giant for the mage knight clix game.

my gizmo (it's like a furby) that i stole from my sister (lol sorry sis), a couple of bearfoot figures, a yo-yo, and some toys you get in cerial boxxes. . .lmao, yes! i still love getting toys in my cereal! :)

SECOND SHELF:

just some cards (for dragon ball, and for wiz kids high stakes drifter. . .which is actualy a fun mix of poker, and trading card games. . .it was very enjoyable for the short time i played it, and i'd love to get back into one day. . .too bad it's a dead game). oh and my vs. system hellboy essential collection in the back.

my harry potter books (all 7 of them), and a couple of my comic trade paperbacks.

THIRD SHELF:

my nintendo wii box (heh, i always keep boxxes to my games, not sure why), a venimous shadow dragon for mage knight on the left, and a bunch of my pokemon trading figures. . .and to the right of my wii box, i have some star wars miniature figures and cards from wizards of the coast.

i need to get more book shelfs. . .hehe i'm out of room. i'd like to display a bunch of my heroscape figures, heroclix figures, and i'd like to have some of my decks on display for all the card games i'm into.
when, and if i get another bookshelf, i'll make sure to post more pictures, and post them.

Yu-Gi-Oh Dueling Thoughts. . .

well i've now played a total of 10 games against my friend's deck. . .and i've yet to lose to his deck with my yu-gi-oh deck.
it's not even completed yet. . .and i'm running some filler cards untill i recieve some of the cards i won off ebay a couple days ago (filler cards such as reflect bounder, soul exchange, gobline attack force, and a few others i'm forgetting at the moment).
i'm able to answer most things my friend can throw at me. . .his deck is a slow control deck, which runs alot of annoying flip effect monsters, and lots of annoying spells/traps (to stop me from attacking, or to mill my deck). his main win is to deck his opponent out.
my deck is quick, and trys to continously put on pressure. . .i'm always wanting to destroy what my opponent has on the feild, and to attack. . .it's a great deck because once i start gaining momentum, at a certian point i'm near unstopable.
i've also got a quick recovery time with my deck. . .when my friend plays a raigeki, or plays something i'm not expecting. . .i find myself able to recover quickly from it, and start the pressure once again.
some times the games we play come to stalls. . .he'll have a gravety bind up, and i'll have no answers. . .or something else will come up keeping me from attacking, and we'll pretty much just pass turns (he doesn't do alot of attacking).
i actualy enjoy it when it stalls. . .i think he thinks it's in his advantage to stall the game like this. . .what he doesn't realize is during this time, i'm also drawing into cards that will greatly punish him, once i do have an answer for the stall.
it's just a great deck. . .and it's able to find answers to my opponent's threats.
i'm proud that it's undefeated one on one, and i know it'll only become stronger within the next week, once i'm able to add a couple more cards. . .i'll have alot more answers to my friend's deck (mei-kou, gradmaster sasuke, sheild crush, royal decree, an extra nobleman of cross out and reinforcement of the army, etc.) my friend can't beat my deck right now (though he got close once. . .each other game, it wasn't even close). . .he'll have a much harder time with my deck once my cards come.
i'm trying not to brag too much. . .i actualy kinda feel bad for him. but he frustrates me. . .he's got a tremndous amount of cards, and he could easily build an extremely powerfull deck, that would be a great challenge for me to play against. . .but he just doesn't seem very good at deck building.
i refuse to help him tweak his deck (even though i truely believe i could make his deck much better, and much more consistant) because i don't want to argue with him. he's running alot of cards (i think it's over 80 cards), and there's tons and tons of cards i'd take out of his deck to drop the count, and to make the deck consistant for him. . .but he'd argue with me the whole time, telling me that the cards i'm taking out can't be taken out.
i don't like to get into arguements.

okay, now that i've talked about one on one games with my deck. . .let me talk a little about multiplayer games.
frankly. . .my deck sucks in multiplayer, all vs. all games. . .of course it doesn't help that everyone starts out at 24,000 points either.
my deck does okay at first. . .but i simply run out of answers, and run out of threats when having to go against more then one player.
i played 2 3 player all vs. all games last night, and the first game i did alright for awhile. i had strong answers to alot of my 2 friend's answers, and was able to keep pressure on both of them.
but i can only keep it up for so long. . .i can't answer both decks at the same time, it's just too much for my deck.
i lost both games (i was the first out on the first game).

i'd also like to add about my friend's deck (the one i was speaking about above). . .it does alot better in multiplayer games. it's made to be a slow deck, so he can get all set up. . .so multiplayer helps his deck out alot.

maybe my deck just can't handle multiplayer. . .or maybe it's my play style. perhads i'm trying to be too aggressive, and over extending myself to early in the game (and the games tend to last quite awhile).
my deck is solid. . .it's not great (i don't believe you can build a great deck at anymore then 45 cards in yu-gi-oh. . .i'd love to cut my deck down to 40 cards, which would boost the consistancy of my deck tremendously. . .unfortunently anything under 60 cards just isn't enough in 24,000 point games. . .especialy with my friend who's goal is to deck his opponents out).
but it is a solid deck. i'm going to have to really pay attention next time i play some multiplayer games. . .take some notes (perhaps i'll take a note pad with me, and keep track of things) of how aggressive i'm being.
perhaps it's not my deck that sucks in multiplayer. . .but me. if it is me, i'm positive i can change that, and learn to become better, and make better decisions in multiplayer.
or i could just say screw it all, and build a completely broken deck (like the exchange first turn kill deck i have posted below). . .lol, just bring a deck that wins in a really cheap way :p. . .but where's the fun in that? (it would be fun to see the looks on my friend's faces lol).

anyhow, i'm completely obssesed with yu-gi-oh once again, so i'll be keeping you posted on how i'm doing, and any changes to my deck i make.
i'm really determined to figure out what i'm doing wrong in multiplayer. . .or what i need to do to my deck to be stronger in multi games.

looks really good to me. . .lots and lots of answers cards to deal with just about any threat my opponent may throw at me, and lots of aggro critters to keep me attacking (i don't like playing defensivly unless i'm force into it).

me and my friend have played 5 games against each other's decks (my current deck is a bit different then what's listed). . .i've beaten him each game so far.
he got out a silent swordsman lv7 yesterday. . .and i couldn't find an answer for it anywhere. he beat my life down to about 4000 points (from 24000 starting points) and i finaly top decked a sakuretsu armor. . .which killed his silent. he was still at 20000+ life. . .but with the silent gone, i had a handfull of answer cards. . .was able to dark hole the feild, and eventualy got both a jinzo and sacred phoenix out. . .and slowly beat my friend.
hehe it was kinda funny though (but a bit sad). . .he was convinced he had won the game (i've learned in magic that it's not over untill you know ypu have no way to gain back control. . .i had plenty of answers left in my deck lastnight). hehe i think it kinda hurt his feelings that i was able to take his victory from him. . .was a great game.

it's been a few months since i've painted these. . .and they aren't great, but seeing how it's the first time i've ever attempted to paint tiny sculpts, i'm really proud of how well i did.

point of the deck is to get 14+ cards into the graveyard, dump your makyura into the graveyard, play your exchange of the spirit, and say good game.
fun stuff. . .and looks like it'd consistantly go off on turn 1.
my friends will completely hate this deck. . .but that's why i'll have my other deck as well.

best part of this first turn win deck? it's pretty cheap to build (i can get all 40 cards at yugioh-cards.net for $80 shipped).

anyhow my friend is out of town till tomorow, but i'm really anxious to go through his collection and see if he's got any of these cards i can borrow from him (i think he's got everything but the makyura).

hey guys, just a quick post on another game i'd like to get back into; heroscape.

me and my friend both baught a master set, a few different small expansion sets, and a castle for this game about a year and a half ago.

we only ended up playing 2 or 3 games, as we were heavey into heroclix at the time, and didn't have a lot of time for this game.

it's really actually a fun game. i love being able to set up the battlefields, and the pieces are well done.
i haven't played enough games to really be able to comment on the gameplay, but from what i have played it was a fun and balanced game, with tons of strategy to take into account.

we actually started using the hex tiles in our heroclix games for awhile, which was pretty fun as well. we even had some house rules we created to make sense of all the different hieghts, and terrian types.

alas. . .my friend has all my hex tiles :( hehe, i told him he could keep them at his house (i marked the bottoms of all my pieces with a red permanent marker). . .but a couple months ago after we stopped using the tiles for anything, i told him i wanted to take my tiles back because i want to set them up for display at my place.
he acted a bit annoyed that i even asked. . .i guess he still wants to use them (they're just sitting in a bag and haven't been touched in over a year).
ah well, maybe i can convinced him to play a few more games with me. i'd really like to give the game a more serious go (and we seems to have taken a break from heroclix over the last couple of months, so it's the perfect time to get back into this miniature game).
after we get sick of the game, i'll see about getting my tiles back again.
ah nerds and thier nerdy toys :) lol.

i just bought a einar flag bearer, and a vydar flag bearer from ebay ($41 for both, shipped).
neither are too great of pieces, but i love both vydar and einar pieces, so it'll be nice having them (and the awesome colored dice they come with).
i'd still like to pick up the other 3 flag bearers, especially the ullar. . .but for now they'll have to wait (getting back into yu-gi-oh as well this month).
i figure that even if i can't convince my friend to play again, at least i'll have a couple cool pieces i can display (lol i have this entire wall covered with nerdy pics, and toys/ tcg's, comics, figures, and my other nerdy things. . .i call it my wall of nerdom, i'll have to post some images of it sometime).

anyhow, if i convince my friend back into this game, i'll post more.

on a side note, i hope to be posting more thoughts on the first 77 issues of the ultimate x-men soon. i enjoyed most of them. . .but certainly not all of them. . .more on this soon hopefully.

my friend had a deck he put together for me to use. it's far from great, but it gives me alot to work with.
i'm now going to build a warrior toolbox deck (with a hint of chaos).

first let me say that we play casual 24,000 point traditional, with lots of house rules (mystical space typhoon and dust tornado negate and destroy for instance).
we're also ignoring some of the restricted list (we run 3x magician of faith for example).

-NOTES-
it's big at 65 total cards. . .but we play 24,000 point games, and when i use to try to play less then 60 cards. . .the number one way i'd lose is by decking myself out (making it worse my friend plays needle worm, card destruction, cyber jars, and morphing jar #2).
65 cards seems just right.

i'm running tons of cards to take care of flip effect monsters (3x mystic swordsman lv2, 2x nobleman of crossout, 2x royal command).
my friend's deck doesn't do hardly any attacking. his deck is designed to slowly deck his opponents out. . .he has a tremendous ammount of flip effect monsters, so i run a ton of cards to deal with them
royal command is great because i run so few flip monsters.

royal decree, jinzo, and spell canceller are also must haves for this deck. my friend runs lots of annoying continous spells to help him stall the game and deck people out. . .and even though canceller has such a low attack. . .my friend plays very few monsters that has an attack any larger. . .he's got a great chance to survive for many turns against him.
royal decree and jinzo are in there to take care of his annoying traps (gravity bind, and mirror force). . .he actually plays tons of traps, so it's nice having answers.

ninja grandmaster sasuke is in here mainly to take care of his banishers of the light, as well as other annoying defense monsters he runs with huge deffences.

that's all i gotta say for now. . .should work out well i think.

getting back into yu-gi-oh

one of my friends is big time into yu-gi-oh. he's got tons of older cards (sets from before cybernetic revolution. . .we both got out of it when gx came).
i use to play a beatdow/control deck. . .can't remember the build, but it used alot of warriors with reinforcements of the army so i could tool box. . .and lots of creature/spell/trap stopping and destroying cards.
it was a great deck and won me many games.
in 1vs1 games, i'd almost always win (another of my friends refuses to play me 1on1 lol).
but we played alot of 3 or 4 player games. . .my deck wasn't nearly as good then.
i eventually got bored with the game and sold all my cards.

lots of new cards are out now. . .some very impressive. now i'm going to get back in.
i've checked out some of the new zombies. . .WOW!
running a zombie deck is risky. my friend's deck has alot of cards that remove cards from the game. lots of stuff to take my zombies out of my graveyard (where i want them if they're not in play). . .but with necroface and a couple of other new cards that can kill off his banisher of the lights. . .i'd really like to give a zombie deck a try.
damn is it going to be expensive though.

we play 24,000 point games. i prefer 8,000 much, much more. . .but my friends wont play 8000.
we also play alot of 3-4 player games.
from experience i can say that 40 cards just isn't enough in really long games. i'm aiming for a 60 card deck. . .seems to be a good solid number.
we also play casual/traditional games. . .no advanced.

typing this post with my voyager again. . .

i'm still having lots of fun with my voyager.
yesterday me and my dad went to another town to do some christmass shopping. i thought it'd be a great time to try out verizon's vz navigator, verizon's gps system for their phones.
it was the first time i've used gps and it was great. it was really simple to use, and it was dam accurate.
my dad wanted to do some toy shopping so i did a local search and found a small toy store. . .we had no idea how to get to the shop, but navigator was able to lay out an easy to follow path to the store for us. it was like driving blind, and yet knowing where your going. we found the shop in no time thanks to my phone. it was great.

i'm also getting v-cast in my area now.
i won't be using v cast music at all. . .2 bucks a song? yeah right.

i love v cast videos though. . .it's such an awesome thing.
it's mainly just small 1-5 minute clips from news, tv shows, and cartoons, but it has a few full length shows (some old cartoons like tom and jerry and rhe flintstones), there's also music videos (most of them cost $2.49 however) and there's also some internet videos from sites like youtube.
all in all, it's awesome. most of the content aside from music videos are free to watch (aside from the $15 monthy fee you need to pay to subscribe to v cast v pak).
i imagine i'll be using v cast videos on a daily basis.

i can't remember the last time i've been so excited about a gadget. . .and this thing just keeps blowing me away.

First post with my voyager. . .

Okay, so my old cell phone broke (can't remember what model it was other then it was a motorola. . just a basic flip phone, that I paid $50 for.)
So I needed a new phone.
I was thinking about getting the Samsung SCH-i760. . .it's a dam nice looking phone with a keyboard. I really wanted this phone. . .
. . .then I watched a youtube video of the Verizon Wireless LG VX10000, more commonly known as the LG Voyager.
Lets just say I was no longer so interested with the i760. . .lol.

I ordered my Voyager last Thursday, and recieved it this Monday.
I'm in love with this phone. but calling it just a phone doesn't do it justice. . . it's so much more then just a phone.
this thing is my mp3 player, my e-mail, my internet, my video player (though I haven't tried video out on it yet. . .i will be as soon as i get a MicroSD card), oh yeah. . .and it's a phone as well :) .
I don't get V-Cast in my area so I can't test out the mobil tv or the music downloading (which I wouldn't use anyhow. . .not when I can do the same thing for free ;) hehe).

I'm nothing but impressed with the Voyager. . .the internet browser is amazing, though it's not perfect, and it's a bit slow, this being said I'm really loving the internet on this phone.
I've loaded a ton (about 70 so far) ringtones onto this phone, and it couldn't have been easier using a program called (bleh brain fart I can't remember now lol, I'll edit it in later.) ----EDIT----the program is called bitpim, you can get it here ----EDIT----
getting music onto the phone was even easier with the included USB cable, and software.

All in all I'm extrmely impressed with this phone. . especialy the internet browser.

I'm sure I'll have plenty more to say about this phone. . .but for now I have to go.

Ultimate X-men Comics

Well today I recieved my ultimate x-men comic lot.
Got Ultimate x-men #1-#77, plus the first 2 annuals, and a couple variant covers.

I've only read the first 2 issues so far, so I haven't read enough to know whether or not I'm going to enjoy the series.
I've heard alot of old comic book fans saying negative things about this series. . .that they didn't enjoy the stories, and that they think they did some of the characters wrong.
well since I'm new to comics, and don't know a whole lot about the back stories of most of the main characters, I'm hoping I'll be able to enjoy this comic series.

I'll be back in a few days after I've read quite a few more comics, and let you guys know more thoughts.

Astonishing X-Men

Well as I said in my last post, I've recieved a bunch of marvel graphic novels.
I've now read through everything except my 2 volumes of ultimate spider-man (working on it! lol).

I was blown away by Origins, The True Story Of Wolverine. . .wow! what an awesome story this was.
I'll try not spoiling anything here, but it wasn't the story i was expecting from wolverine. . .then again, i know nothing about wolverine except what i've seen in cartoons (the really old ones that they use to have on fox kids) and the x-men movies.
This story was much better then i was expecting. . .it was great seeing his childhood, and everything that's made him who he is. . .especialy having an understanding as to why he's so bitter.

I also read through Astonishing X-Men Vol. 1. . .I was a bit lost, as professor x, has left the x-men for this series, and i'd like to find out why he had left in the first place (though he regoins them in the end). Also emma frost teamed up with the x-men for this series. . .i know nothing about her, but i always thought she was an enemy of the x-men. . .and she must've been at some point, because shadowcat has a grudge againster emma through the entire story, and refuses to trust her. . .i'd like to find out the back story of this someday as well (maybe some of the later volumes of the essential x-men will provide the story for me?).
That being said, it was an enjoyable read. I was especialy impressed with beast. . .he's always been a character i've enjoyed (at least from what i remember of the old x-men cartoons). I'm hoping they continue comming out with more astonishing x-men tpb's so I can read more.

So anyhow, now I'm starting on Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 1. . .so far it's an awesome series, and I find myself completely relating to spidey in so many ways during his early years of transforming into spidey. . .he just reminds me so much of me when i was his age (14-16 years old). I had gone through alot of the same things he's going through (being bullied and pushed around in school, the anger and resentment for your parent's, the wanting to be on your own. . .etc.) heh. . .now if only i could've been bitten by a radioactive spider!!!! really would've came in handy back then! lol (though god knows i probably wouldn't be able to handle all the pressures, and resposabilities spidey now has ;) ).

Comics are too damn addicting. . .but you know what? I'm loving every second of reading comics.
I can't believe I didn't get more into comics at a younger age.

I haven't read through any of these tpb's (trade paper backs) yet, but i'm really looking forward to digging into them.
I've heard nothing but great things about Ultimate Spider-Man, so I can't wait to get through these couple of books.
I've also just finished up the Essential Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 about a week ago; it was a nice book. . .but it only had Professor X., Cyclopes, Jean Grey (Marvel Girl), Beast, And Angel. It didn't have all the X-Men I know and love. . .no Wolverine, Gambit, no Rogue, no Nightcrawler, etc., etc. So I can't wait to read through Astonishing X-Men, and hopefully get caught up a bit (and don't forget I've also got tons of Ultimate X-Men comming to me).

anyhow, I just wanted to make a quick post. . .it's always exciting to get a bunch of stuff in the mail.

Yay! I Just won a very nice lot on ebay.
First a little history lesson for you kiddies! (lol).
I was never much into comics growing up. . .sure I'd occasionaly talk my parent's into a spider-man comic here and there. . .but it was very occasional.
I'm now 24 years old. . .and only now am I starting to get into comics.
I love card games, and have started falling in love with miniature games.
I made a friend a few years ago who was into yu-gi-oh. . .well after getting a bit bored with yugi, we decided to pick up some heroclix figures, and get into that game.
We still play heroclix, and try to get together every Tuesday night for a game (me, him and another guy we play with).
We also started playing the Vs. System tcg.
My friend is a huge comic fan, and has tons of comics to prove it.
Another guy we play heroclix with (he's a cop, so i call him the cop guy. . .and no, he doesn't like doughnuts. . .i already tried! lol). . .asked me one day, why I didn't read comic books. I had no answer for him. I enjoy reading, and I'm into all these games that use comic book characters. . .so why don't I read comics?

With that I jumped into the comic world.
I just purchased 3 marvel essential collections (iron man vol. 1, uncanny x-men vol. 1, and fantastic four vol. 1), and I also picked up Ultimate Fantastic Four, volumes 1-47, plus the first 2 annuals (it's an entire run of the ultimate ff, up to this month). . .I purchased this stuff about 3 weeks ago.
So now I'm hooked, and can't get enough comics. I've since purchased quite a bit more off of ebay (a bunch of trade paper back graphic novels).

And today I just won my next major lot :) Ultimate x-men Volumes 1-77, plus the first 2 annuals, and a couple variant covers.
I couldn't be more excited.
Ultimate Fantastic Four blew my mind. The artwork was amazing, and so was the storylines. I can't get enough of the ultimate ff. . .and enjoyed reading every comic (a couple times on some of the amazing stories).
So I can't wait to recieve the ultimate x-men and see how I like these.

The newest game I seem to have gotten addicted to is the Pokemon Trading Figure Game Next Quest.

I've enjoyed pokemon ever since it first started getting big here in the USA. I got into the card game and really enjoyed it alot. The video games were great as well.
Over the years however, I've slowly moved out of pokemon. I'm now 24, and I live in a small town in the middle of Wyoming, so I have no one around my age that's willing to get into pokemon with me.
That being said, I still love pokemon. Sure I may be a bit too old for the game, but what can I say? I enjoy things that put a smile on my face, and pokemon does just that.
Now if only I could convince one of my friends to get into pokemon with me!

I heard of the pokemon tfg through a small article in a scrye magazine I bought several months ago. . .it showed a couple of the figures (Charizard, and Feraligator I believe). The figures looked absolutly amazing. . .I was blown away by how well done they were. But I knew that the game wasn't expected to hit stores for a couple more months, and I wasn't sure if the actual Figures would be so well done.
Last week I was looking through my favorite isle at wal-mart (the nerd section. . .aka where they put all their collectable games, and trading cards) and saw that they had some of these figures for sale.
I snatched up a riptide starter (they didn't have the flame starter) and a 2 pack (1 shown figure which was a Salamance, and one hidden "secret" figure which was a Treecko).
Wow! These figures are amazing! I've played quite a few different miniature games, but never have I seen such detialed and amazing looking figures before!

The figures I own so far:
1x Brendon Trainer
1x Treecko
1x Pikachu
1x Murkrow
1x Feraligator
1x Salamance

I've yet to play a game. I don't have 6 figures (non-trainer figures) yet, so I can't play a 3-3 game with myself.
I just purchased the other starter kit (the flame starter, with Charizard, and Red (Ash) as the trainer) along with 2 random single packs, off of ebay the other day, so hopefully they'll be in the mail soon, and I can finaly give this game a go.

From what I can tell of this game so far:

It seems simple
It appears to be well balanced
Though it may be simple, it seems as though it can get quite complicated

I'll have alot more to say about what I think the game's like once I've recieved more figures, and can sit down and play a few games out.

One things for sure. . .I'll be collecting these figures for quite sometime. Their great looking figures, and even if I don't get into the game, the figures are well enough done that I can keep them displayed around my house for years to come.

I'll be back with more thoughts on this game as I collect more pieces.
I'd also eventualy like getting some photos of my figures, and thier bases together eventualy.

I'm into alot of different things. . .trading card games, miniature games, comic books, and all sorts of other nerdy things.
Yes, i am a nerd, and i couldn't be prouder! lol

I decided to start this blog to keep track of my thoughts about all the nerdy lil things i'm into. I'll try to post often, as i try getting into new games several times a month.
